Breath

It’s well known that in stressful situations you should practice deep breathing. Some people are very familiar with this practice and live by it, others find it corny or just a silly small solution to something big. As someone who has felt all these ways at one time or another, let me tell you, breath is very important to calming stress and anxiety. It’s easy to disregard this, but I promise with practice, you will come to realize how influential breathing can be.
A couple pointers:

  • Breathe with intention. Breathe deeply and focus your full intention on each breath.
  • Try diaphragmatic breathing. Breathe deeply in through your nose, filling up your lungs. Pause to allow your lungs to expand. Then slowly breathe out through your mouth.
  • Focus your eyes on a fixed point in front of you. This allows you to give your full attention to the breath work.

Bottom line: Breathing is not always the solution to the problem but will relax you so you can calmly approach the situation. So give it a try!
